Thailand is a marvelous country located in Southeast Asia. This country is known for its beautiful cities, islands, mountains and much more. It is also one of the top destinations to visit for many people around the world as it has a lot to offer. The most popular time of year to visit is between November to April, but if you are looking to avoid the tourist crowds, you will want to stick to going around late fall. Keep in mind that the rainy season for Thailand is between July to October, but the closer you visit towards the end of that timeline you will not be stuck with as much heavy rainfall. The later you go, the more comfortable the temperature will be and you can look forward to less rainy days on your trip.

The Phuket Vegetarian Festival is a nine-day celebration that involves honoring deities and gods by abstaining from eating meat and/or killing animals for food. This holiday is celebrating similarly to how we celebrate it today. Although, the focus is not necessarily on trick-or-treating, but instead still includes dressing up in costumes and partying from October 30th to November 1st. While majority of the festivities are located along Khao San Road in Bangkok, many living in the region of Chiang Mai (north) also celebrate.
The biggest events of all in Thailand are called the Loy Krathong (located in Bangkok) and Yi Peng (located in Chiang Mai) Lantern Festivals. In Bangkok, the festival involves releasing thousands of lanterns into the river. In Chiang Mai, you can see one of those bucket list moments where thousands of lanterns are released into the sky. This event is for participants to pray for a comfortable and peaceful future. Make sure that if you are visiting in mid-November, you do not miss this once in a lifetime experience!
